THR Motorsports
Competitive events have been held and recorded for centuries – each time there is a winner, and sadly enough a looser too. THR Motorsports has a deep history of winning and has always kept that as the main focus of the team. During the last 20 years the team has collectively been on the podium over 50 times and looking forward to the new 2010 team line-ups – that tradition will continue.
Our race teams are a culmination of family and friends that have a common passion – and that is to win. We are not only members of winning race teams, but partners in business, coaches of little league teams and a part of the communities we live in. Supporting local events and charities our team members are deeply rooted in our kids, local school and church events too.
After 15 years with a manufacturer of component parts - a company where she had risen from secretary to vice-president and ended up with 25% of the firm's stock - Lana Scott-Whaley wasn't happy with starting just any old company, she wanted it to be the best. Her passion for excellence and her ambition to be the best was infectious, so much so that her husband David Whaley left a secure job with the California Institute of the Arts, took a mortgage out on their home, and launched their dream. With chins high and smiles wide, they turned on the lights at THR Motorsports on May 1, 1979 - a 4,000 square foot facility with few a pieces of equipment and a handful of clients.
Thirty years later, the second generation is hard at work keeping Lana and David’s dream alive in a 63,000 square foot complex fully equipped with high-tech in-house fabrication and manufacturing capability. The dream has grown into one of the most respected specialty parts manufacturers in the United States. A successful family owned, family run business is unlike any other. There's an intrinsic quality about the management style and company dynamics that's nearly impossible to duplicate. We've come a long way since 1979 and we still approach our business the same way that Lana and David did. "Give our customers the best product at a great price, and they'll likely be back for more." It's the THR Motorsports way.
A Mind for Craftsmanship
Intelligent planning and informed decision-making is what makes THR Motorsports unparalleled in fabrication and manufacturing. It's also what makes our brand of craftsmanship a unique commodity in a fiercely competitive field. Read about the THR Motorsports Standard.
For 30 years, we’ve been working on our own THR Motorsports standard of craftsmanship and professional expertise. As a family owned and family managed manufacturing tradition, we take everything personally. From CEO to QC, we give the highest attention and follow-through for the smallest detail. That’s why we’re also trained in manufacturing management concepts such as Total Quality Management (TQM), Statistical Process Control (SPC), and Just In Time (JIT). But, when all is said and done, a standard is only as good as the people using them so, the THR Motorsports standard can be summed up by saying, "we’re happy when you’re happy."
We’re ISO 13485, ISO 9001, and AS9100 certified as well as registered with the FDA. We regularly work for high demand, high performance companies that are involved in a wide range of industries. But there’s a lot more to standards than official-looking seals. It takes people – good people – to ensure the best possible service for every project – right down to the smallest piece.
Service Is Our Business
"Your implants just gave us our first successful surgery and the patient is doing fine,” a statement we have heard many times from our customers. We take our manufacturing very seriously. The parts we manufacture can mean the difference between life and death and we take that to heart. Many of our very own family members and friends have had the implants that we have manufactured placed into their bodies. You can’t afford mistakes and recognizing that every part we make could affect our family, we can’t either.
To sustain the expectations that come from ISO 13485 certification and FDA registration, we measure success in the smallest detail. Our name stands for accomplishments, not compromises – our goal is to exceed your expectations. We’re a genuine family owned and family managed American business tradition. We have been working on our good reputation for 30 years – we’d be glad to add your company to our story. Just give us the opportunity.
