THR Headlines Huge 2011 BITD Season Launch At THR Motorsports Parker 250

THR Motorsports opened the 2011 year with a bang! Parker, AZ began to swarm with riders and drivers of motorcycles, quads and UTVs for the first Best in the Desert event of the New Year. As the headlining sponsor, THR Motorsports wanted to host an event that compared to none other.

With the help of the entire THR team, we were able to facilitate the “THR Motorsports Pit Challenge.” Riders and drivers were able to wheel their vehicle into a designated area and start their timed wheel change.  Many teams entered the challenge in each of the 3 classes, all vying for the $100, first place prize.  In the end, we awarded a 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place prize to each class.

In the hopes of changing up the typical “Rider’s/Driver’s Meeting,’ THR gave away raffle prizes ranging from (2) two dozen $50, gift cards to multiple Xboxes and a 42’ LCD TV.  I’ve never seen such participation at a BITD Meeting.

Saturday’s race was quite the production as well. THR fielded 5 teams in the hopes of securing some trophies. Shane Esposito started off the race on the N5 bike. He increased his lead over the pack by minutes in just the first few miles.  Later, Shane broke his rear shock, pulling himself out of the race.  Next off the line for THR was Ricky Brabec on the N14 bike.  After a lap and a half, Ricky handed off the bike to Mikey Childress, who brought the N14 bike into the finish, securing 2nd place.  Garrett Osteen took off the line, riding bike 306 in the Open Expert class. With Garrett’s speed he was able to pass much of the expert and pro pack before handing off the bike to Ty Renshaw who powered the bike in for a solid 4th overall in the race.  For the Over 30 Expert, THR team, Eric Caudillo started the race and handed the bike off to Don Campbell who rode a strong race pulling in 2nd for the class.  Last but not least, Zack Dodson started the 202 bike off the line behind numerous classes that took off earlier.  Between Zack and Jason Jacobson (first time BITD racer), they charged through the multiple loops of Parker desert for an awesome, 1st in class victory.

Congratulations to the entire THR Motorsports team for a memorable event.
